On Tabletop Gaming

I mostly write about video games here, but I’m actually a gamer of all stripes, and I spent my past weekend at Origins Game Fair in Columbus.  I played a variety of tabletop RPGs and several card games.

That doesn’t mean an in-depth article yet, but it is a statement of intent. I may end up writing a bit about such games again, or anything else that suits my fancy, in the coming months, if it pleases the audience, or maybe even if it doesn’t.  I’m pretty sure I at least have an interesting perspective on this topic.

I have a little open time during the month of July and I think my post count may somewhat increase.  I’m trying to decide between some different ideas of themed entries that I want to do however.  I can be welcome to suggestions as to whether I should stick to video games or write about other games as well!  If there are no suggestions I will assume I should do whatever I feel like.

Tabletop games, yes! Highly in favour of expanding talk from video games to games in general. What did you play at Origins?

    Cool!

I played a few rounds of Call of Cthulhu (one of my recent convention staples, since it’s sort of easy to get in to at the con), Blue Rose (New to me, and highly enjoyable), Maid (Actually, I ran Maid, since you can run this with no prep and a few drinks), WEGS Ultimate Dungeon Party, and a very funny Bounty Head Bebop adventure that involved the Penguins of Madagascar. Yes that’s right. I also spent an evening at Looney Labs trying out their new stuff, which they called the Triathalon.
